Nearly two million people live in rural areas across northern New England. We’re proud to give patients and emergency medicine workers the care, support, and education they need—right in their communities—to help build a stronger healthcare system.
About us
To improve people’s health in the region, our division works with local EMS agencies to run a strong quality program. This includes reviewing patient records, giving feedback, assessing the system’s performance, and offering training based on the results. These agencies include about 650 paid and volunteer EMS providers. We liaison with 10 transporting ambulance services, 30 first response services, and cover an area of about 1,000 square miles.
To many of the region’s prehospital patient care providers, we provide:
- Community outreach
- Oversight and leadership
- Medical direction
- Out-of-hospital clinical care
- Regional vaccination programs and community AED deployment
- Training and education
