Five-Week Program: Thursdays, January 16, 23, 30, & February 6, 13
Leader: Angelynne Hinson
This five-week on-line interactive singing workshop series will help to strengthen and maintain the speaking voice. It is designed for adults with Parkinson’s disease, COPD, adults with MS, selected adults with post stroke aphasia, or persons managing respiratory/vocal production issues.
In addition, the sessions are beneficial for anyone who loves to sing and would like to increase knowledge about ways to improve your voice.
Each 90-minute session will meet online with Angelynne Hinson, an independent artist and voice educator from Portsmouth NH, where you will learn about efficient singing voice techniques including movement and breathing exercises, vocal warm-ups and sing-a-longs.
The song repertoire will align with the technical skills presented at each workshop and the abilities of the participants. After each weekly workshop, participants will receive a follow up email with links for further listening and learning.
The goal is to have fun singing while you are learning skills to maintain your voice. No singing experience necessary.
This Workshop is also available by live streaming at the Aging Resource Center for people without internet capability or device.
This series has five sessions. Each week builds on the previous weeks and people should attend all of the sessions for the maximum benefit. When you register for the first class on January 16, you are enrolled in the full program.
This program is a collaboration of the Dartmouth Health Aging Resource Center and Neurology Clinic.
