Leader: Ross Malcolm Boyd

“Play the Ukulele!” is an eight-week series of weekly class sessions where participants will be introduced to all the basics of ukulele playing.

From strumming technique to a variety of chords and an introduction to reading ukulele music, participants will connect with other new ukulele students in a fun, supportive environment.

You’ll receive handouts and learn the tools you’ll need to excel on the ukulele – and you’ll get lots of practice and have fun along the way, playing and singing along with a variety of music and learning tools you can apply to your own music-making outside of class.

Whether you’re new to ukulele or new to playing an instrument altogether, the ukulele is a wonderful place to begin – and it’s never too late to learn, and to have fun while you do it.

This is an eight-week program.  When you sign up for the first class, you are enrolled for the full program.

Ross Malcolm Boyd has been teaching guitar and piano for twenty years, and he added ukulele to the mix in 2017.  Purchasing a beautiful tenor ukulele in 2014 began his love affair with the instrument.  Since 2017, originally through the Experience/Arts program with the Arts Alliance of Northern New Hampshire, he’s taught weekly ukulele classes to older adults, both online and in person (partnering with other organizations and though his online studio, Tiny Village Music), and the work also inspired him to create an online, self-paced ukulele course.

Ross is known for his friendly and approachable teaching style, teaching students from ages 5 up to 80+ in private and group settings, both online and in person.

He’s currently completing his music education certification.

You will receive a zoom link for this class 60 minutes before the class starts. The zoom link will be sent directly to the email you registered with.
