Senior Sneakers is the perfect fitness program for beginners and aging adults. This program combines half standing work with half seated work, while also incorporating weights for resistance. Don’t have weights? No problem—you can use water bottles, soup cans or other household items instead.

Who should sign up?

This class is for anyone searching for a new type of exercise, whether you are active in your fitness journey or just starting out. Join us for the evening to connect with other members of the community and add some movement into your week.

What do I need to do to prepare?

Plan to arrive at least five minutes early to find a space in the room. You can bring weights, soup cans, water bottles or any other small material if you wish to use resistance during the class. We will have some extra items in case you do not have any available. Plan to wear comfortable clothes and spend about 45 minutes moving.

Meet your presenter: Gretchen Nadeau

Gretchen has been teaching group exercise classes and personal training clients for over 30 years. Currently Gretchen is the fitness coordinator at Covenant Living in Keene. It never ceases to amaze her how much better one feels—mentally and physically—after exercise.

Now in her middle age, she sees the importance of leading classes that are gentle enough for older populations, but still challenging. She is proud to say she has clients exercising with her into their 80s and 90s. Her clients never want to stop moving and neither does she. Her goals for every class are simple: safe, effective and fun.
