Leader: Jenny Gelfan, MAed
Explore your creative spirit! Have you wanted to give yourself a regular time to write? Of course, life tends to interrupt when you are home alone. So, join with others to spend a time together each week writing.
In this five-week program, you will have time to write spontaneously from prompts in class, and from suggestions for writing between sessions. We will also share our writing (if you wish) and support each other’s creative spirit.
The purpose is: 1) to stimulate us to look attentively outward and inward; 2) to get the juices flowing and compose without judgement; 3) to enjoy searching for and expressing perceptions, feelings, ideas, dreams, memories, stories etc.; 4) to exercise our minds using written language; 4) to listen to each other and be moved; and 6) to have fun. The goals are to encourage taking chances, trying new things, and making connections. Our time together is not meant for critiquing nor to teach craftsmanship.
Jenny Gelfan has been writing (professionally and for herself), editing, teaching, and been involved with writing workshops most of her adult life. She says, “Writing is one way I discover more about myself, this universe and our relationships.”
Classes are held on April 4, 11, 18, 25, and May 2. When you enroll in the first class, you are registered for the full program. Please try to attend all of the classes to allow a safe space for sharing stories.
