Ergonomics: Preventing Injury and Pain in your Workplace

Learn how to prevent injury and pain by setting up your worksite to fit your body and using safe work practices! In a technology driven world where devices allow us to do so much it’s easy to forget our bodies weren’t designed for tech tasks. Often during or after a long workday we experience painful or stiff bodies, making it difficult to move through everyday life. After attending this class, you will have learned basics about anatomy, prevention tips, information about equipment and how to set it up, and hacks to create a comfortable and safe workstation.

Meet your presenter: Joan Van Saun, OT

Joan is an Occupational Therapist currently working at Cheshire Medical Center as part of the Outpatient Rehabilitation Team. She has a Master of Science in Occupational Therapy from Boston University and has been an Occupational Therapist for the last 35 years. Joan’s focus is on injured workers, injury prevention, jobsite analysis, and helping patients find safer work practices.
