Legislatures’ and agencies’ ability to drive health and healthcare
Over the last decade, policy promulgated at the federal, state, and local levels have driven healthcare and infrastructure to ensure (or impede) healthcare access and healthy communities. Legislatures create and executives approve and implement governmental structures that drive healthcare delivery and resource infrastructures. Further, states determine how their most vulnerable populations access health benefits, including drafting and administering Medicaid benefit design. State legislatures determine the scope of practice for doctors, advanced practice providers, nurses, and ancillary care providers.
This event will explore how New Hampshire policymakers and administrators can drive health equity through legislative and executive action. It will review current health and social challenges impacting New Hampshire and discuss potential legislative and administrative solutions. Additionally, it will begin to explore how New Hampshire policy leaders can influence those political drivers of health in the 2025 New Hampshire legislative session.
